Democrats are hoping to make one word synonymous with Bush administration policy in Iraq, and judging by the generally reliable political barometer of late-night comedy writers, their strategy may be working. “President Bush is asking Congress for $80 billion to help rebuild Iraq,” David Letterman quipped in a September monologue. “And when you make out that check, remember there are… return to article

wall street is the biggest group of scam artists ever, i would know i used to work at a stock exchange in chicago and i have seen all the lousy tircks they play the average investor.
one company i woked for (now they just have computers, not people) would call in all of their stock trades AFTER THE CLOSE at whatever price they wanted. needless to say, these were trades that with ordinary people were cold called (pressured-"you better get in on this or you’ll miss out") into making. who made all the $$$?
another company i worked for would intentionally set the price being qouted worldwide to a very small amount of stock, and when a large costomer order came in the would quickly move the price to one more favorable to them. who made the$$$?
it goes on and on. what a lot of common peolple don,’t realize is that the newer electronic stock exchanges, the ones that are going to “level the playing field for the average investor” pay the larger trading firms (payment for order flow its called) to execute trades on their flor, effectively a bribe, none of which goes to the common man investor, just lines the pockets of the firms.
they are making a killing, as the record profit reports that certain firms have reported lately.these firms dont care if you make or lose money, just as long as you keep trading, and thus keep pumping money into their pockets.
they should be watched like the scam artists they are.
and dont get me started about options.
