The Blame Game

By Salim Muwakkil

Heightened public interest in the workings of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States, better known as the 9/11 Commission, is a welcome expression of public engagement. But the scope of that interest has been severely constricted by the Commission’s limited focus on a partisan blame game. For two days of Commission hearings in late March, the… return to article

Absolutely great revealing article. Sums things up in a few words, as Howard Zinns’ whole book “History of the U.S.”

‘Weíve vetoed virtually every U.N. resolution condemning Israel for its barbarous treatment of indigenous Palestinians, and yet the United States subsidizes Israel in its expansionist policies and generously provides weapons systems that facilitate continued abuse of the Palestinian people.’

How is it that the world has this sacred fence around Israel???  No one can speak about how evil they are. how they are re-enacting Nazi’s with their treatment of Palestine, and the now people are trying to say that the pre-emptive war in Viet Nam, oh, sorry Iraq, was to PROTECT Israel??  PLEASE!!!!!

Thomas Jefferson said, ‘It is only error that needs government protection.  Truth can stand on it’s own.’

I think we should be able to take the kid gloves off our criticism of Israel without being dismissed, and branded ‘Anti-Semetic’.

The US, UK, AND Israel are the most GREEDY people in this world, which is very quickly being destroyed by them.

Rose, you will have to demonstrate your claim that Israel is “re-enacting Nazi’s”

As for the article, it is true that there have been more civilian deaths in Iraq than in the attacks on 9-11.  Just as certainly many of the deaths attributed to the US are actually casualties of failed or misdirected Iraqi attacks on coalition forces.

These oil-rich regimes we prop up - they would be Islamic governments?  So it is our support for MOslems that have ticked off the Moslems?

Get right down to it - it is only US support for Israel that is the cause of the hatred of US.

Would you just disperse all Israelis throughout the world?  What would you do with them when an anti-Jew Islamic Palestinian state is created in its place?

“asymmetrical warfare as their military method, what we call terrorism”

Oh, what we call terrorism.  That is certainly wghat I call it.  What should specifically targetting non-military targets to maximize civilian casualties be called?

And yes, that is different from casualties in a conventional war.

I just can’t understand how so many can be so deluded and suckered into believing that Richard Clarke’s seeming self-crucifiction has somehow exonerated the murdering and plundering privileged bastards who allowed 9-11 to happen.  It’s all a smokescreen, a diversionary tactic to take the focus off of certain questions those who failed this country that day don’t want aired.  The problem was never why our intelligence and federal police were unable to thwart the plot but - why were we left defenseless?  Are we to believe, for instance, that on 9-11 and 9-11 alone...NORAD’s defensive automatic response to those grossly anamolous flight patterns flown by alleged, “terrorists”, were somehow some sort of brain-freeze, when every other even slightly deviating flight before and since has been instantly and as per protocol...been intercepted and corrected without fail?  Damn!  What are we a bunch of idiots?  To hell with intelligence gathering and the morass of obfuscational labyrinths the blame game with which the Commission seems to be dedicated!  Our Nation has a military...an Air Force...which responds immediately whenever even the smallest aircraft deviates from it’s scheduled flight pattern.  It’s called North American Air Defense.  The most powerful country in the world, I’m to swallow hook, line, and sinker...failed to defend our homeland ONLY on 9-11-01?  During blatantly obvious flight deviations lasting for nearly two hours?  If that were true which it is NOT...then just about any ambitious air force from anyplace can, with impunity, invade our country at will, at any time, and would have, could have done so throughout the Cold War!  No way, my friends!  Throw in the most heavily, missle-defended building, (The Pentagon), and the lie would have made Pinocchio’s nose grow bigger than his whole body.
