DU does has radioactive properties but it is also a heavy metal. Very heavy. Its particulate properties - (nanoparticles)- are also disturbing but the chemical effects are quite toxic. The reported symptoms seem more complex than straightforward radiation poisoning. Most likely the radioactive, particulate, and chemical properties in DU exacerbate each other.
