It’s not only pandering, but insulting and will not get the hoped for votes.

What we have her is a contest between the 3 Blind Mice. Instead of real program proposals to deal with energy dependency McCain wants to throw a bone to voters which will do absolutely nothing positive, but will obviously (to any sane person) reduce funds needed for road maintenance and other projects.

Cutting the price per gallon is not a winner any more than Hillary’s $10,000 toward purchase of a fuel efficient vehicle or Obama’s $1,000 per family tax cut.

This is not something which calls for a one-shot innoculation. A PROGRAM needs to address all the issues: dependency, inefficiency, environmental and safety.

A national transportation system should be instituted. Energy efficient architecture should be encouraged or perhaps inefficiency penalized. Ethanol from corn should be abandoned. Hey, we no longer make anything, we’re supposed to be creative users of the information revolution, remember?

These people seem to be only concerned with getting elected (surprise, surprise) and oblivious to the problems facing the general population.

Let’s see here the administration in power could release oil in the system which then would drop prices, hummm too easy right, so this President will sit on our oil reserves and make us pay out the wallet so him and his good old buddies can keep racking the American dallor . As far as the canidates are concerned I think American’s need to stop sleeping at the wheel and wake up to the fact complaining about it by word dose nothing, one must participate as they do in familys, in this case your country needs you to step up and say enough is a enough.
Or American’s can sit on it and do as they have since President Bush has been in office, get mad talk about alot of nothing and then adjust their life around the things they so called hated.
